Easter - Basket and tutorial :)

Hey lovelies, I made this a little while ago and forgot to post it - Doh!  Its a little Easter Basket and card. I thought I would share it with you today. I even made a little tutorial for the basket while I was at it. I should also mention that Totally Tilda are having an Easter Challenge (Sorry I was a bit late to make the midway reminder), you still have time to enter if you haven't already. So on to my creations.

I love this little Easter Tilda. I think she is my fav for Easter. I have coloured her in copics, and then distressed everything in sight :) How much do you love my little Sparkly easter bunny? I found these on a facebook selling group 'That crafty place'. I have painted him with white acrylic and while he was still wet covered in Glamour dust.

Copics Used -
Skin - E21, E11,E00,E000,W3,R20
Hair - E51,E11,E25,E59
Dress - BG70, C00,C1,BG72
Shoes - E44,E43,E41
Grass/Background - YG63,YG67,YG61,G28,G29,W3,C0,B000,BG000, B60

Now for my basket, after a bit of fiddling to decide on sizes, it was pretty easy to put together. I normally make a basket for the kids at Easter, but I thought I would make a pretty more grown-up one this year.

The flowers are WOC. I used a MS Punch for the leaves and the tag are a Magnolia Tea dies, with a Magnolia Sentiment masked on them.

Basket Tutorial -

Okay so on to my basket tutorial. Its a bit picture heavy.

You will need to gather the following items -
Card 5 1/2" x 6" a strip 6"x 3/4" and 2 x discs 1 3/4" diameter
Scissors
Glue
Stapler
Score Board
Distress Ink (Optional)

With the widest edge at the top (6") score at 2" and 4".

Then turn the card round and score at 2" and 3 1/2"

Then snip to the top and bottom score lines to the middle score, on the 5 1/2" side.

Then score at 1" intervals on the 5 1/2" side on along the left bottom and right bottom panels and the top left and right panels, to the middle line. You should keep the middle strip unmarked.

Then snip all these score lines to the middle score lines.

Then if you want a distressed look ink your edges up. Move to next step if not :)

Then turn over the card, with the 6" edge at the top and score at 1/4" from the edge on the middle panels on either side.

Using the stapler, clip together the strips of paper at the top. I find the folded edge helps to line up the top of the basket when folding the strips together. The cut off at the fold once you are lined up.

Next take the card discs and score and fold at 1"

Then stick the discs over the stapled edge. I find that PVA sticky glue is the best for a strong hold.

Then stick the strip at either side for your basket handle, and your done :)

I hope that was helpful. I am off to make a whole load more less decorative ones for Beth's Easter Egg hunt with all her friends. Thanks for popping in. Have a great day xxx
